Pesident Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize...

Yes, he won the prize,so what,it was accepted and the people of most of America think it's a wonderful thing. Why do the rightwing wingnuts think it's not deserved? Alfred Nobel invented dynamite and several other explosives because he was a manufacturerer of armaments. He never expexted that it would eventually lead to his death (which it did), so in his will he left a grand amount of money for the developement of a prize to be awarded to the deserving candidates from around the world in all the sciences and one in peace for the person who set forth a show and plan to change the world for the better without the violence...wow what a concept.

Now onto my rant...The fact that many rightwingnuts think that it is an award udeserved are spouting supidity and nonsence. This award is given by a group that looks at what a leader (or other person) does to ensure that peace can be achieved without the use of violence, hell I am all in favor of that, and works to ensure that it will happen. So does The President deserve it?
Yes for if no other reason then that he has worked hard to show that negotiation is far more productive than death!

What is wrong with people that have "air time" and are allowed to spout anti-America rhetoric to the public, unwatched and uncontrolled? What is wrong with the public that is willing to deafly listen to that rhetoric and not get angry that their President is being slandered to the nation? Why weren't they this pissed off whem the shrub was in charge and destroyed our economy and our treasury to fund an illegal and immoral war and steal millions from unmetered oid wells in Iraq, and some think he was a saint?

Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Savage, and O'Ripley(Believe it or not), spout their insidious rants all about insighting people to violence, and unfortunately many of the deluded minority not only listen but seem to plan and plot against the President and the United States and is true patriots.
This type of behavior is not only unacceptable in this country , but it also borders on treason...but damn it does sell ratings don't it? What the hell happened to honest journalism in the free nation we call home?

President Obama has done much of all he promised to do and yes he has a great deal of work left to do, but for chrissakes people, he hasn't been in office even a year yet, any employee has a period of time given to show what he is made of , and not one of the wingnuts has given him even five minutes to change that disaster the last administration left us. I would never want that mans job for anything , he has a bazillion things on his plate and no time to even eat it. Let's stand up and put on our big person pants and give him some time to show us his metal. In fact maybe it's time we took a closer look at the idiot blue dogs that seem to like money more that their constituents, or maybe the rethuglicans who seem unable to find the forest for the trees. There is a new vote coming soon kids and it time we look at what our representatives are and are not doing.

Oh, by the way kids, don't let them tell you that health care is not a right, as I have said before no American should be refused, denied, or not given the right to quality healthcare for any reason. As I have written before, the constitution states that it was written in part for the "general welfare " of the people. That has far reaching implications that need to be addressed.

Oh and not as an afterthought, let us never forget that the LGBT community was instramental in getting our President elected and truly deserve the rights that they are asking for. All people have basic human rights and no one can be denied them for reasons that only affect their sensibilities. C'mon folks lets all wake up and realize that this "grand experiment " does work and it's up to us to make sure it does.

A guy falls asleep on his boat for several hour and gets a horrible sunburn. He goes to the hospital, and is admitted promptly after being diagnosed with second degree burns. With his skin starting to blister, and seeing the severe pain he is in, the doctor orders an IV with saline, electrolytes, a sedative, and a Viagra pill every four hours.
The nurse, who is rather astounded asks, "What good will the Viagra do him, doctor?"
The doctor replies," It'll keep the sheets off his legs."

I can't really say it's plagerized, but it's close...

With a hat tip and a free beer to whoever wrote originally,I offer this tidbit thanx to my dear friend Rose...

So I was telling my kids the other day that I did not want to be kept alive by a machine and have to take liquid nourishment, so they came over and unplugged my computer and threw away my beer...they can be such assholes...!

On another note...Why can't the congress get it through their collective heads that people really do want a public option. I mean come on idiots we hired you to vote for us not yourselves, quit taking all the lobby money and vote the way your constituents want, what are you?, stuck on stupid? Grow a spine and a sac and we might even think about reelecting you...or NOT!

My own rant on Health Care

It's time I said a couple things about the idiotic fight over "gov. run healthcare", and so it starts. We already have it so deal with it you people, now it just needs to include every one. Now I want it understould that I am just talking and not presenting a better solution, it's my opinion and everyone is entitled to it.

I have gotten overly tired of hearing that all the Feds want to do is take over more of our lives, this is a silly and irrational statement. First lets start off with the simple fact that we are the only industrialized nation that does not provide health care for its citizens. Second let's take on the fact that, though many say that healthcare is not a right, I contend that it is simply for the fact that the preamble to the Constitution of the United States says that it is. Remember kids that this is what our Founding Fathers said..."We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." Did you all notice that little tidbit about general Welfare? If that does not mean the welfare and wellbeing of all Americans don't mean healthcare , I will bow to you superior intellect(I don't expect to do much bowing at this point).

At this point I will tell you that I will not spout statistics or other numbers that can be adjusted to say anything the writer wishes them to be. I will although tell you that I am writing this because of "government healthcare", because if it were not for the VA I would not be writing this today because I would be dead. Yes I said the VA, that means I am a veteran, not someone who just decided to take on a cause because it happens to be the news of the day. The last time I checked the VA is a government run health and welfare agency. If it were not for a concerned lab tech and a Dr. I would not have been told that my blood sugar was 1465 and I need to get to the closest E.R. So I know I owe them a great debt I cannot repay. Does the system have a few problems? Yes of course it does but so do the local hospitals in the area I live in , it's a problem we all face, but it is not insurmountable. Problems can be fixed along with the fixing of people who depend on the sevices that the orginizations offer, be they private or federal. No system is perfect and never will be. Which leads to another point, what the fuck are death panels? To my knowledge they already exist, they are called insurance company bean counters, or, Medical Directors,(nice title for a peon with absolutely no trainingin medicine) that have no medical training and that decide whether or not you get the care you need instead of your own physician, go figure. Hell I would rather go to a witch doctor at that point.(no pun intended)Hey Sarah ...go scratch.

I watch the news on several networks and I have seen so many of the people that are screaming that they don't want the government involvement seem to this writer to be at or close to the age that they are going to retire or already have, does this mean that they will walk away from their Social Security or their Medicare because they don't want it because the feds control it? I am taking bets that they won't. I saw a cartoon not to long ago and would love to post it but I haven't gotten permission to use it so I can't. The jist of it is that there is a a fellow talking to another at a townhall meeting weaing a No Socialism t-shirt and he says to his buddy ,"sorry I'm late but I had to drop my mom off at the SS office and I had to stop and apply for unemployment benefits." Hmmmmm.

What the hell people? We are, as the Founding Fathers so succinctly put it, "A grand experiment", does that mean that we have come this far to think that the experiment is a failure and we should not think about the "general welfare" of our fellow countrymen? And I mean all of them (yes even the GLBT). All of those who think so need to go back a few hundred years and see what was done and why . Evry child and every citizen of this country has the right to quality healthcare , made affordable with the help of the government that was created to help, not hinder, it's people in their personal persuit of the happiness this country has afford them.

As an aside I will now say that this whole rant also applies to the right for marriage equality, because it is this writers opinion that everyone deserves the right to be happy and to tie the knot.

Summertime cookout, Part2, the burger...

This recipe is so easy that if it were not for lack of opposible thumbs, most family pets could make these burgers and leave you free to guard the beer cooler. Let's go...

1lb. ground chuck

1/2lb. ground pork

1 pkg. onion soup mix(any kind will do pick your favs).

2 Tbs. Whatsthatthere sauce(Worchestershire)

2 tsp.(healthy)oregano

1 squirt of ketchup to taste

Mix that whole mess together and let it rest for at least a half hour in the fridge.
Now I am gonna assume that you have a scale , if not get one they are real cheap at one of the local box stores.Now measure out a 1/4 to 1/3rd lb. pattie and roll them into balls and then squich them into a patty and round off the sides with your hand to keep them even, and lay them out on wax paper.
Go fire up the grill and let it get to medium/high heat and while your waiting go enjoy a cold one.
When the grill is ready slide the burgers onto the grill and season with a dash of season salt, close the grill and IGNORE them for 4 min.(I mean it don't lift the lid).
When the time has past, open the lid and flip the burgers over and temper any flame (with a water spray bottle)and leave them for 3 min.
This will give you a medium rare burger that you can add(yuck)cheese or such and let them sit there for another minute
Take'em off and onto a plate to rest for five minutes and during that time you can toast your buns(though I find that annoying cuz my jeans get scorched).

So there ya'll go the very best burgers that can be had, enjoy them with that there Tater Salad and a cold one and have a party with good family and friends.

And now for something really odd...Christians and Democracy.

The RRR(Radical Religious Reich and other fellow idealogues that function under the guise of historical revisionists or better yet just plain old wingnuts) are at it again. Aside from the fact that they would have any of us believe that this country was founded on christian ideals and prinipals, despite the fact that the COTUS says distinctly otherwise, they also wish us to believe that any marriage not sanctioned by a church is less than valid, that cohabitation is against their personal faiths, and gods forbid if two loving humans of the same sex wish to get married, it is an abomination before their personal vision of god.

They constantly point out that good old Prop 8 in CA was won by the democratic principals of Majority Rules. What they fail to grasp is that this country is not a democracy as the word is defined, but is truly a Constitutional Republic( let that sink in for a moment kids). To quote my friend (((billy))), "News flash, folks: the Constitution of the United States of America exists to protect the minority. Majority rule must be tempered. And it is by our laws." Much better said than I ever could have.

What the Moral Meatheads and their ilk fail to grasp is that the COTUS was written to protect those citizens of this country that could not otherwise protect themselves, that means it is up to the majority to make sure the minority get the same freedoms that all should enjoy despite ANY supposed, or concieved fault on their part. Now someone please explain to me how something so simple and straightforward could possibly be so horribly misinterpreted by a minority of people that think they are speaking for all Americans.

We are a nation of laws that throughout history have been drawn from the Hammurabic Code, the laws and notions of the ancient Greeks and Romans, and last but not least were compiled together by a group of militant Deists that sought to preserve the freedoms that they themselves so desperately sought. These men were not christian in the sence that the dominionists would have us all believe. That age old argument that some god set down our laws is as factually wrong as it is as incompetent to proclaim so.

Those relgious zealots that would steal our freedoms are also the first to scream socialism all the while they are driving to the Social Security office, or perhaps to the unemployment office to file for benefits. To quote an old song,"C'mon people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together, try to love one another right now."

Support the right for everyone to "Tie the knot", or to get prompt and quality health care.

Summer picnic time recipe..."hey, he can cook too!"

Now ya'll get to find out just how eclectic this blog can be.(really I am just desperate for readers). Actually yes it's true, I am one of the best cooks I know. I should have been a chef but then all the fun would have been gone. Anyway here is a recipe I know so many people think takes to much work or are afraid to try,(trust me it's easy)but is a needed part of any type of cookout.


Real American Tater Salad(You say potato I say tater)(and no damn mustard)

5 pounds yukon gold potatoes(russets work fine too)
6 eggs(of course we cook them)
2 Cups salad dressing(mayo is for skinny folk)
1 onion diced(not to small but not to big)
1 small green pepper seeded and dice like the onion(sweet banana peppers work too but less color)
3 stalks celery(sliced really thin and watch your fingers)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. season salt(for both adjust as you have need)
1 tsp. pepper(fresh ground is always better)
1 tsp. dillweed(the secret ingredient)


DIRECTIONS(or,on to the real work)

1.Boil taters till they are fork tender (not mushy). Drain and cut in cubes(you choose the size I shoot for 1/2", don't forget to watch yer fingers).

2.Put eggs in a pan(yes still in the shell)and fill with cold water. Bring to a rolling boil and immediately remove from heat and cover for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool, peel and chop(I said watch the fingers).

3.In a large bowl,(I said large)combine taters and eggs( yes the yellow parts too). Mix together the salad dressingand all the other stuff I told you aboutand mix well. Cover that mess and stick it in the fridge for several hours or overnite is even better.

4.When it's ready go out and fire up the grill get the brats and dogs and burgers ready and cracked a cold one and have the best cookout you can (the beer helps if you burn the food but the tater salad will be great).


There ya go, ya'll can't blame me if your cookout don't work out(next time buy better beer)and have a great time. Next week maybe I will share with everyone my secret to the best burgers on the grill(in my opinion of course, read the top of the blog). Kthxbi.

The Giving Tree

Anyone recognize that title? If your were born after 1969 you probably should. A most wonderful childrens author, Shel Silverstein wrote it along with a miriad of other childrens stories, books, and songs. But the question remains what it really means.


A tree giving its all to a boy that grew and thru his own life used the tree for his own happiness and enjoyment leading to the ultimate end of things with a mere trunk to sit upon and yet the tree still willingly gave that. Quite the concept don't ya think? If you think this rant is just rambling, trust me I am not, there is a method to my madness,(there usually is, I am a legend in my own mind). A tree...are we as humans supposedly one up on a tree?, except that we don't live as long. I find myself not sure who I envy.


I am not real good at hyper links but I will tell you all to go visit my friend (((billy)))at http://iambilly.wordpress.com/ and find a very good thinker and friend of mine. He recently wrote about the failure of parents to feed their child as a type of punishment(I am talking starving, not overlooking a meal). That in and of itself is is horrid and terribly wrong for whatever reason it was, especially when you are talking about a toddler.


What I want to gripe about is the fact that, for god knows what reason, we cannot seem to be willing to offer our own here in America the simple enjoyment of basic healthcare for all children, actually hell I want that same healthcare plan our beloved members of Congress have.
here has been a rash lately of deaths from Wisconsin to Oregon of children that have been cut short in the beginning of life by denying them treatable medical care in the name of fundementalist religion."Jesus will heal or ressurect the child, "I just have to have faith". What crap. This is the best, richest and most open form of country on the planet, yet we have a group or groups of people that refuse to make sure an ill child is merely prayed over but still sympathize the fact that there are dying children in many other countries not at lucky as we happen to be. What the hell is wrong with this picture? Is it ok that they die to? For Crissakes people,"wake the hell up". In this country there is absolutely no excuse for ignoring a child that needs what amounts to most of the time, simple medical intervention. Are we not as willing to give as that simple tree? Go ahead try to answer that question , are we not better than a mere tree? Perhaps Shel was right some lifeforms are more willing than others, because when the best of us do not care, as the trickle down theory works, then truly few if anyone cares. We all suffer when we ignore out own future.


Once there was a tree……
And she loved little boy.
And every day the boywould come And he would gather her leaves And make them into crowns and play king of the forest.
He would climb up her trunk And swing from her branches And when he was tired,he would sleep in her shade.
And the boy loved the tree…..Very much..And the tree was happy.
But time went by, And the boy grew older. And the tree was often alone. Then one day the boy came to the tree and the tree said:
–”Come, Boy, come and climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and eat apples and play in my shade and be “happy”
–“I am too big to climb and play”said the boy. “I want to buy thing and have fun. I want some money.

–”I’m sorry” said the tree,”but I have no money. I have only leaves and apples. Take my apples, Boy, and sell them in city. Then you will have money and you’ll be happy”
And so the boy climb up the tree and gathered her apples and carried them away. And the tree was happy..
But the boy stayed away for a long time…… and the tree was sad.
And then one day the boy came back and the tree shook with joy, and she said:
–”Come, Boy come and climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and eat apples and play in my shade and be “happy”..
–“I am too busy to climb trees,” said the boy. “I want a house to keep me warm,” he said. “I and want a wife and I want children, and so I need a house. Can you give me a house?”
–“I have no house” said the tree.The forest is my house.” said the tree “but you may cut off my branches and build a house. Then you will be happy”
And so the boy cut off her branches and carried them away to build a house. And the tree was happy.
But the boy stayed away for a long time……and the tree was sad. And when he came back, the tree was so happy she could hardly speak.
–“Come, Boy” she whispered, “Come and play”
–“I am too old and sad to play.”said the boy. “I want a boat that will take me away from here. Can you give me a boat ?”
–“Cut down my trunk and make a boat,” said the tree. “Then you can sail away…… and be happy.”
And so the boy cut down her trunk And made a boat and sailed away.
And the tree was happy…..But not really.
And after a long time the boy came back again.
–“I am sorry, Boy,”said the tree, “but I have nothing left to give you— My apples are gone.”
–“My teeth are too weak for apple,”said the boy.
–“My branches are gone,” said the tree.”You cannot swing on them—”
–”I am too old to swing on branches” said the boy.
–“My trunk is gone,” said the tree.“You cannot climb—-”
–”I am too tired to climb,” said the boy.
–“I am sorry” sighed the tree. “I wish that I could give you something… but I have nothing left. I am just an old stump. I am sorry…”
–”I don’t need very much now” said the boy. “just a quiet place to sit and rest. I am very tired”
–“Well” said the tree, straightening herself up as much as she could, “well, an old stump is good for sitting and resting. Come, Boy, sit down…and rest.”
And the tree was happy..

Please, please, think on the story and think of so much of our life together on this planet, because if each of you don't then there is no excuse for the loss of humanity and all the gods.
Ya'know they are still sort of watching what happens to us, wondering if we will wake up and see past that one cloud and see the whole picture.


Sometimes we can easily find the milk but it takes work to find the honey.

A Monday concept...

If Y'all dont care for religious talks stop reading now, if not please feel free to continue...

I was told the other day that the monotheistic god as we (sorta) know him is omnipitent, that means all everything, all powerful, all knowing, all perfect. I will take a couple moments of your time to refute that concept and then leave it up to you to contemplate it.

–noun 1. the state or quality of being or becoming perfect.
2. the highest degree of proficiency, skill, or excellence, as in some art.

Now using that criteria it would seem that god is perfect, therefore he cannot create that which is imperfect for it would deletirious to the gods nature. So that being said it seems resasonable that god cannot create that which is imperfect, right?, right. so let's move on.

We must all admit to being imperfect in some way, shape, or form, That being the case how could god have accomplished this feat . He cannot by the nature of his perfection, create anything that is not as pefect as he , which leads us to the simple thought that if an all poweful,(hence perfect) being created us , why do we have imperfections, the concept that some kind of sin made us this way is ludicrous at best, having to beg forgivness of a deity is like having to go to the barber and begging forgiveness that your hair grew back. It makes no sense, any deity that demandfs blind obedience is not worthy of regard much less worship.

That question in and of itself leads to a miriad of other concepts and thoughts that I will leave to you dear readers...After all its Monday what more can you expect?

Tuesday Twofur...

Welcome to the the blog where you can get two rants , and sometimes more, for the price of one. Blogs tend to come and go much like the proverbial winds of change, but it seems that the Rabid Religious Right hangs on to a form of life that border on being zombieish, if ya'll pardon the pun.

It seems that U.S.Congressman Paul Broun(Rethug-GA) has introduced a non-binding resolution(HR 121),that would declare 2010 as "The National Year of the Bible". Now my first reaction was that if good ole Ronnie Reagan already did that in 1983, would not redoing such a thing seem a tad silly or redudant? Thanks to my friends at FSTDT.net I will reprint a small portion of the resolution as written at Govtrack.us...CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

Encouraging the President to designate 2010 as ‘The National Year of the Bible’.

Whereas the Bible has had a profound impact in shaping America into a great Nation;

Whereas deep religious beliefs stemming from the Old and New Testament of the Bible have inspired Americans from all walks of life, especially the early settlers, whose faith, spiritual courage, and moral strength enabled them to endure intense hardships in this new land;

Whereas many of our Presidents have recognized the importance of God and the Bible, including George Washington; Franklin D. Roosevelt; Harry Truman; John F. Kennedy; Ronald Reagan, who declared 1983 as ‘The National Year of the Bible’; and especially Abraham Lincoln, whose 200th Birthday Celebration in 2009 highlighted freedom for the slaves;

Whereas shared Biblical beliefs unified the colonists and gave our early leaders the wisdom to write the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, both of which recognized the inherent worth, dignity, and inalienable rights of each individual, thus unifying a diverse people with the right to vote, and the freedoms of speech and vast religious freedoms, which inspired courageous men like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to lead the Civil Rights Movement;

Holy Crap, what a load of history revisionism, and that is the part I find frightening about this kind of crap. America, while questionably colonized by religious zealots, was in fact, thanks to the intelligence of our Founders, formed a secular society and it was ensured in the Constitition that it stay as such. One up front example of such revisionism is as follows..."

Whereas shared Biblical beliefs unified the colonists"... I fail to see any type of unification of beliefs between the Puritans and the Quakers, the two most common religious groups in 1600's of America,(that wasn't yet a country).

I have been a history nut for the vast majority of my life and I can't stand the pathetic attempts by people that are blind and ignorant, trying to reteach me the history I know to be true.I suppose I could be forgiving if it were a simple error but it is not, it is an attempt to usurp the rights of a free American people, in order to do the bidding of a select few of idiots and morons.( Those are code words for RR Rethuglicans).

Now for something really different, and this is a true "What the Fuck?" moment. O.K. I care about alot of the things President Obama does because it pertains in even a small way to me, but is there anyone short of a good grill cook that cares if he want Dijon mustard on his damned burger? I mean why is this something to bitch about, I am one of the poorer in the country and if I am out I will order that as well beause I absolutely despise yellow mustard ,(except on a hot dog at Sox Park, and I actually do not care for baseball). Not only do the pundits whine and cry about it they find that the fact he ordered it medium well instead of medium-rare to medium. For shits sake anyone that orders a medium rare buger from a fast diner is asking for a side of e.coli with their meal. It's just common sense folks , and lets hear it for those that use Dijon, or just brown mustard (similar) on their ground, medium-well meat patties.

Civil disobedience, that’s not our problem. Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Does remembering make a difference?

Hi all, the following is a reprint (with a change or two) from a couple years ago. It is still as poignant as it always is, for those who remember a line from an old Bob Dylan song brings to mind a simple question..."How many deaths does it take till we know, that to many people have died?"

How many does it take? How about countless thousands in Darfur, or how about 50,000 plus in VietNam, or maybe its 4,200 and counting in Iraq, oops I forgot the 850,000 Iraq soldiers and mostly civilians(conservative count), then again maybe its the 33 students killed at Virginia Tech, at the hands of a poor delusional nut, is that enough or should we add more...?

Maybe four more...the four that should count pehaps the loudest. May 4, 1970, a date that should live in infamy, four students, some exercising the right of free speech and some not, died at Kent State University because our own soldiers, Americans themselves, following immoral orders, turned as they were retreating and opened fire on unarmed civilians. At a school! American soldiers , most not more than kids themselves, shooting at unarmed kids. All in the name of politics and "moral outrage". This has been swept away in the gift of forgetfullness, for the vast majority, but to this writer it was a life changing experience. I found myself questioning freedom itself and our inherrant right to express it in our own way. Maybe that is why I taught all my kids to "question authority", which they have done, way to well at times.

I was in the navy at the time, fairly gung ho and all proud till that fateful day, in an instant I changed, I came to the realization that no war is worth such a price and I could not support such an unjust cause. This is just not what ones pride and sense of justice is able to understand, and to this day I still dont. What the hell were we all dieing for, and I mean troops and civilians.

In a day or so I will turn 57 and though its been a long hard road, my deepest feelings have not changed. In these past 39 years many things have changed and unchanged as the case may be, I am still a "hippie" and a "peacenik", but now we find ourselves yet again facing the horrid reality of an immoral, illegal, and lost war. A war with more horrid implications than I care to think on. Not only are our rights being eroded or stolen at will, but the voice against it is weaker it seems and perhaps with good reason, perhaps not enough remember....or maybe to many are just afraid to stand anymore because to many have died. So tomorrow I will don my "remember Kent State" shirt and do just that....remember.

To all of you I wish that the events of the past are never forgotten, for then, by the gods, we will be destined to repeat them.

It's May

Welcome to the month that symbolizes the growing start of summer, when plants begin to grow and life rebirths anew. This is the time to clean off your trowels and rakes and go play in the dirt left over from the past winter. Go have fun snd enjoy , even those that can't can also build a small garden in the kitchen or other sunny spot. A cheap plastic tray will build a wonderful and tasty herb garden, or just use what you have, a box and a plastic bag with a few rocks for drainage or whatever , just grow something for your family.

I have found that time spent with a family playing in dirt is invaluable, I am sure many disagree but that is my opinion. Go out with a pack of seeds and watch your kids go nuts, it's a wonderful personal time. Take time to appreciate the nature around you , you might be surprised by what you find. The wonder of a bee buzzing from flower to flower , the amazement as seeds become a life, the joy of a tomatoe that you grew, take all and enjoy.

This day all I wish is that my gazillions (6) of readers take a moment to remember the wonder of the world around us and take a moment (and it only takes a moment of time), to see and small the world about them .

And one more thing, grab whatever partner you may have and give them a big kiss,... as I said it's May, the lusty month of May.

100 days...

As I noted on another blog earlier, though I may not agree with hows certain things are being handled, I feel that our President's overall grade should be a B-, and that given a bit more time that will go up as he acclimates himself into the new role he has as leader of the free world.

The main reason I gave a bit lower grade than others is mainly due to the hesitant stand he has tended to take on the "faith-based intiatives". The whole concept needs to be scrapped permanently. There is way to much pandering to some faiths who don't wish to not discrimate for multiple reasons. Just as the voucher system is a proven failure so are most of the faith based intiatives with regard to equality and "fair and equal treatment under the law".

I think we as a society have come way to far to continue to constantly aquiess to the Religious Reich. Progress can only advance and continue when dogma and narrowness is avoided like the plague. So, Mr. President, I am sure that as your adminstration progresses your grade will no doubt go higher, and I for one thank you for your hard work.

Tomorrow is Beltane, or May Day as many call it, so if any of my gazzillions(6) readers feel so inclined go dance naked in the woods.

Texas??? who really cares?

Since Gov. Perry said he felt that leaving the union was not out of the question ,I figure I have a few questions ...
1. Do we really care? (I mean think about it, we could tax the hell our of them for whatever resources they use and give a good aid to our tax base.).
2. Should we care? (nah, I don't think so, if they think they can function independant of the rest of America so be it.).
3. Don't they care about the amount of Federal Aid they already get for many programs in their state,...er country? (Aparently they only care about what they think is their own and that they can dictate terms to the United States.).
4. Last but not least ...What are they gonna do with the rest of the population that does not wish to leave? (Are they gonna deport them or just make them refugees like any other third world nation does?).

OK there is my thought for Friday, answer or laugh or just ignore it it was the best I could do on short notice.*grin*

One More Tiiiime....

I decided to give this blog one more try , though I am not quite sure what to make of it, so lets see, to attempt to offer things to think on, have fun with, and just generally bitch at or about, so let's do it people.

I won't waste all your time reintroducing myself because my gazillions(5) readers already know who I am and those that don't will eventually find out.

We have new leadership, and I am sure we all hope He lives up to all our hopes and dreams...ain't gonna happen folks , get it through your heads that as long as there are 300 million of us there are gonna be 300 million opinions. Facts are facts, this is why we are a Constitutional Republic and not a true Democracy. We elect people to represent our interest and then quietly retreat to our beds hoping that they make the right choises, and many times they do, even if they are not just yours. For example I saw a picture today of a person holding a "No Socialism" sign, and I am sure that when he is old and poor he will be sure to send back his Social Security checks and never ever use Medicare......yeah right.

O.K. So much for the serious side, isn't it absolutely wonderful that state courts and even a legislature is waking up to see that rights in America are for all people, not just the ones with the most money. Go to WhiteKnot.org and get yourself a ribbon and wear it proudly.(shameless plug to a worthy org.). If any of you don't get it I am talking about Equality in Marriage, nuff said.

HHHmmmmmm. ok it's spring and the ground is thawing ...go out and make even a small garden , you would be suprised the bit of money you can trade for a little bit of fun playing in dirt. And all kids love playing in dirt wether they admit it or not or how old they are...so have fun with it, grow things that are hard to find in your area, I do.

Next time we might tackle a few more serious issues but for now I offer a simple attempt to make all of you smile...
